FHS - This week in sports
Franklin High School parents and students, please be reminded of the following important information.
No fast food or restaurant food may be delivered to students during the school day.
All students must carry a keycard to gain access to buildings on campus. Replacement cards may be ordered for a $5 fee at our front desk.
In order for a student to be dismissed after 2:30 prior permission will be required. Prior permission may be a written note brought to the office before noon or it may be a direct contact to the office by a parent before noon.
Attendance is recorded for each class period. Students with more than 5 absences in any class period must make up time in order to earn credit for that class. Doctor notes may be turned in at the office within 3 days of an absence to request an exemption.
Students must dress respectfully, completely covering the area on their front and back from mid-thigh up to a line that would connect their armpits and material over their shoulders that is at least the width of 3 fingers.
The afternoon learning center schedule will begin on Monday September 19. Learning centers may be used for academic tutoring or for making up excessive absences and missed tests.
Following these simple rules will be necessary for your student's time at FHS to be productive and enjoyable. Thank you.
This is an important message for FHS parents and students. The new traffic pattern at FHS requires that all parent pick up happens on McCollum Dr. After 2:30pm the front traffic loop is reserved for handicapped pickup only. Students must bring a note to the front desk at the beginning of the day or have a parent directly contact the office before noon if they need to be dismissed after 2:30pm. Without prior permission students will not be called from class after 2:30pm. Please make arrangements in advance with your student for any appointments that require dismissal between 2:30pm and 3:10pm.
Mark your calendars!!! Here is the FHS 22-23 Men's Basketball Schedule.
Students check out the upcoming college fairs! If you need further information see the Counseling Office.
**Signing Out Information for Parents**
To save yourself time, be prepared when you come to sign out your student early at FHS. A photo ID must be shown and you must be on the student's pick up list to pick up a student.
**CAFETERIA INFORMATION FOR FHS STUDENTS**
We are happy to announce that breakfast will be available before school to all students for free again this year. However, lunch procedures have changed.
As of Monday, everyone will be full pay for lunches unless you are direct certified for free meals. Please do not assume your student gets free lunches because they were free the prior year. All students must fill out the lunch application online at maconnutrition.com. There is a NO CHARGING POLICY in the cafeteria and students must have cash or have money in their account in order to purchase a school lunch or ala cart item.
The K12 payment center can be found online at www.maconnutrition.com where you can manage all of your student's lunch accounts, make payments and see what your student is purchasing. Please take a moment to register!
If you have any questions please call Terrie Kendrick at 828-524-3301.
