Monday, September 30, Macon County Schools are closed to students and will be an optional teacher workday due to the lack of emergency and communication connectivity.

From FHS Golf Coach Ryan Raby
Panther Golf fans, needless to say, Monday's tournament has been postponed. Many people have much bigger concerns right now than a golf tournament. Like everyone else, I have had no service. I had to come to the verizon store to get on their wifi. We will work with our friends at Trillium and come up with a date to reschedule as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please pray for all affected.

The JV football game scheduled against Tuscola has been postponed until 10/7 and will played at home. If you know a JV football player please relay the message as internet and cell service is still down throughout most of the county.
The Varsity football game will be played Monday @ 7pm at Tuscola.
Varsity will practice today @ 3pm.

Varsity Football @ Tuscola has been canceled. The Athletic Directors and Coaches for each school are working to reschedule the game. We will update here once we know more.
Stay safe!!

Congratulations to Franklin's Kyrah Bowles on her commitment to continue her volleyball and academic career at Maryville College! Go Scots!!

27-0 - That’s the record the past two days as FHS Tennis won Every.Single. One of their individual and doubles matches against 3 different conference foes. They remain undefeated in the Mountain 7 Conference standings. 🙌
This group of seniors now boast a total team record of 58-6 in their high school careers. 🎾

Wayah Insurance Player of the Game

Monday was an amazing night for soccer at FHS! While we didn’t get the win on the scoreboard, our players had an opportunity to give back to the community. They offered many of our future Panthers Soccer Players a chance to experience taking the field with the team.
In a perfect world, we would have won the match, as well. However, tonight gave the men on the team a glimpse of what it’s like to be a mentor.
Also, we can’t thank the fans enough for the amazing support you showed tonight! You cheered the team on all the way through. You helped create an atmosphere that gave the guys on the team a burst of energy to keep up the effort.
Proud to be a Franklin Panther!

Mr. Gibson spent time last week at the Macon County Fairgrounds helping show livestock with some very special buddies.

On Wednesday, September 18, Macon County students attended Noon Rotary. During this time, students were able to share about their experiences with Southwestern Community College Public Safety pathway and the new Firefighter Academy. In addition, Hunter Jamison, a former Franklin High School graduate and current employee of the Macon County Sheriff's Office, was able to share his experience as he is a product of the Public Safety pathway. A very special shout out to Larry Pickens for his dedication to this program and these students! If you have never snorkeled the river, it is fun and challenging!! Thank you to Jason Meador from Mainspring for leading our Natural Resources 2 classes!!

Panther football senior Braydon Hervey has earned statewide recognition. With 491 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in his first three games, Braydon Hervey is off to a historic start, leading Franklin to 20-point wins over Murphy, Robbinsville and Swain.
Recently the N.C. High School Athletic Association named Hervey the first-ever male winner of its new Performance of the Month award, given to just two athletes across the state for the month of August.
