Franklin High School has built a special tradition over the past few years of announcing our Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Person of the Year during Battle of the Classes, surrounded by our students.
This year, we were proud to announce Mrs. Meg Mileti as the FHS Teacher of the Year. Meg is an EC teacher at Franklin High School who consistently goes above and beyond for her students and the school she serves.
For our Support Staff Person of the Year, we had a first — at least as far as we can remember — a tie in the voting. Both honorees are truly deserving.
First, we are proud to recognize Dennis Ray, one of our main building custodians. Dennis is the man who literally opens our building every morning, and he invests in our school and our students in ways many people may never fully realize.
But wait, there’s more.
Last, but certainly not least, the staff also voted Mrs. Tina Higdon, our FHS Bookkeeper, as Support Staff Person of the Year. Tina does so much behind the scenes for our school, clubs, activities, and athletics. She has no problem keeping us all in line, and we are proud to recognize her for the important role she plays at Franklin High School.

While it is Teacher Appreciation Week, we’d like to pause and recognize our school nurse, Ms. Maddy Brown, on National School Nurse Day 🩺
Ms. Maddy does it all. She can always bring a smile to your face and takes care of every student like they are her own child. She has been a welcomed addition to the FHS staff this year, serving as a full-time nurse at FHS.
When she isn’t busy on campus, you can find her at almost any FHS athletic event cheering on the Panthers 🐾

Congratulations to Franklin’s Tanner Jones for an outstanding performance at Highlands Falls in the Regional Golf Tournament! ⛳️
Tanner finished 7th overall with a score of 78 (+8), earning a spot in the State Tournament!
He will compete next Monday and Tuesday at The Sapona Club in Lexington, NC.
