A huge thank you to Cherokee Central Schools for allowing Franklin High School to host the second round of the 5A NCHSAA Playoffs at Cherokee’s Ray Kinsland Stadium while our field is under construction. The experience was truly first class. A big thank you to all the Cherokee staff members who helped make sure everything ran smoothly.
We also want to thank everyone from Franklin who helped make the night run smoothly—our chain crew, gate keepers, press box staff, game administration, the clean-up crew for staying after to get the stadium back in order, and the FHS Ag Department for running concessions.
Thank you all for supporting our student-athletes.
We hope to see everyone in Hickory next Friday night for the 3rd Round.

If you missed Panther Legacy Hand-Off 2025, you missed a phenomenal event. Even without a football field, the Student Leadership students handled every detail and created a meaningful experience for everyone involved.
If you don’t know, Panther Legacy Hand-Off is a tradition where seniors symbolically “pass the torch” to the next generation of Panthers, recognizing their leadership and the legacy they leave within our school community. This year it was our class of 2026 "passing the torch" to the class of 2038.
Thank you to our emcee, Bekah “Bougie Boo” Brooks.

The Student Leadership Team is proud to announce the fourth Powerful Panther of this school year, Ms. Sherri Houston!!!! She is an amazing, dedicated teacher and we are so thankful to have her here at Franklin High School. Ms. Houston is very kind to all those around her. Thank you Ms. Houston for all that you do!! We are so proud of you!!
🤍 We have also gotten some notes from her colleagues Dana Vinson, Tara, Kim, and former Powerful Panther, Mrs. Mauck.
"Ms. Houston is a wonderful person who always has a smile on her face and is more than willing to help out where she can. Not only does she work so well with the students in her own classroom but she also connects with students across campus. She goes above and beyond the call of a teacher, she is a good friend and does so much in our community from sporting events to her work with the Samaritans Purse. We are very fortunate to have her here at FHS." -Mrs. Mauck
"Sherri is a wonder! She is a wonderful teacher, leader, friend, and caregiver. How she puts 100 percent into her work, her students, her co-workers, and her friend is inspiring. Knowing her makes me want to be a better person. -Tara
"I'm thankful to have been able to come into her classroom and world of teaching. She's an exceptional Christian lady who loves God and helping others. I've already learned so much from her. I'm thankful her passion for teaching outweighed her thoughts of retiring. I knew her, but now I'm able to say we're friends. Love ya Sherri." -Kim

The Panthers’ season comes to a close in the second round of the 5A state playoffs. They went on the road and took the top team in the West to the wire.
We are proud of this team and what they accomplished this season.
Thank you to our senior Panthers and we look forward to next year for our Panthers!

To help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently, please keep the following in mind:
Morning Drop-Off
Use the front loop for student drop-off.
Pull all the way forward to the cone by the sidewalk.
Please do not stop at the crosswalk to unload unless traffic in front of you has already stopped.
Students may unload once traffic has stopped and your vehicle has reached the sidewalk, for the safety of everyone and the consideration of other drivers.
Afternoon Pick-Up
We will continue using both McCollum and the front loop for dismissal.(Please communicate with your student to determine the pickup location)
Please pull all the way forward in the loop when traffic moves.
The outside left lane is for exiting after your student is loaded.
For safety and the consideration of others, do not use the crosswalk as a pick-up or drop-off point.
