Tomorrow begins our celebration of Read Across America Week! Don't forget to dress like your favorite book character and come play learning games at Academic Night at 5:30pm. Tuesday- wear wacky socks, Wednesday- wear wacky clothes, Thursday- wear a college shirt, Friday- NO SCHOOL/Teacher Workday.
This is a reminder that this Wednesday, February 26, is an early dismissal day. Car rider dismissal will begin at 11:25. Afterschool Edventure Camp, New Visions bus and Karate bus will run. If your child's regular dismissal plan is different on this day, please send a message to the teacher as soon as possible.
We’re kicking off Read Across America Week with our Book Fair, running from Monday, Feb. 24 through Friday, Feb. 28! Students will have the chance to shop during their Media/STEAM classes, so get ready to discover some amazing new reads!
The Book Fair will also be open during our Academic Night on Monday, March 3 (5:30-7:30 PM)—a perfect time for families to explore together! If you plan to attend, please fill out and return the food flyer so we can get a headcount for food.

Teachers sent remote learning packets and instructions home with students a few weeks ago. Please have your child complete one day of the packet. Email or message the teacher in the Rooms App if you have questions. Thank you.

Rooms is within the Macon County Schools App. If you are having trouble accessing it, please call the school or stop by and we can help you get it installed on your phone so you don't miss any important announcements.
Good evening, bus 161 will not be running this week (11/17-11/21). This is an AM bus only.
Cartoogechaye families, We have had a great first week! Now, we get a three day weekend to rest! There is no school next Monday, September 2nd. Happy Labor Day!
Next week, please remember that ONLY pre-k families use the bus entrance for morning parking. Pre-k families, please park in a designated parking spot.

Macon County Schools is now accepting lunch applications and meal payments.
If your student attends Cartoogechaye Elementary, East Franklin Elementary, Iotla Valley Elementary, Macon Early College, Macon Middle, Mountain View Intermediate, Nantahala, South Macon, or Union, they will receive meals at no cost as a part of the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 school year. We do still encourage meal applications to help your child/children with other eligibilities and to help support the school district.
Macon County Schools is utilizing a new system and parent portal where you can submit meal applications and pay meal fees. Macon County Schools is no longer using lunchapplication.com or K12 Payment Center, and you are now unable to make payments with your old account.
To continue making meal payments, please create a new account at https://www.linqconnect.com
You may also submit meal applications through LINQ Connect for the current school year.
